SVM Connection

You can configure connections to the SVM server to the supported end point management systems. Perform the following steps to configure the SVM connections.

  1. On Settings menu, click SVM Connection in the left pane.

    The SVM Connection page appears.

  2. To configure the SVM connection, enter the following information:

    Server TypeSelect one of the following Server Type:
    • Cloud
    • On-Prem
    Site URLEnter the URL for SVM Connection.
    When selecting the Cloud option under Server Type, the Site URL will be pre-populated as svm.flexera.com
    Use SSLSelect the Use SSL Connection check box if your SVM Connection is configured to accept SSL connections.
    AuthenticationSelect one of the following options:
    • Standard—If you select this option, enter the appropriate User Name and Password for the specific site URL.
    • SSO—If you select this option, provide your official email address, and clicking the Login button will automatically redirect you to the configured Identity Provider at your organization for login. For more information, see Connect SVM in the SVM Patch Publisher.
    You can establish a successful connection to the new URL (svm.flexera.com) using both Standard and SSO authentication.
    EmailEnter valid email address for the authentication process.
    Note: This field populates only when you select SSO authentication type.
    Check-In SettingsSet the frequencies to pull the relevant packages from the server.
    Get all latest subscribed packagesSelect if you want to get latest subscribed packages.
    Log LevelSet one of the Log levels:
    • LogAlways
    • Critical
    • Error
    • Warning
    • Informational
    • Verbose
    Service Log FileYou can edit the folder path to save the action logs of this Tool. By default, the folder path will be:
    C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\SVM Patch\svmpatch.log
    UI Log FileYou can edit the folder path to save the action logs of this Tool. By default, the folder path will be:
    C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\SVM Patch\patchpublisher.log
    Proxy SettingsYou can configure a proxy server using the proxy settings. For more information, see Configure SVM Patch Publisher Proxy Settings.
    Note: This feature is currently supported for the SVM and Workspace ONE connections in the SVM Patch Publisher.
    Test & Save ConnectionClick to test to see if the settings that you entered can be used to successfully connect to this SVM server. Patch Publisher service restarts automatically for the changes to take effect.
  3. On successful connection you will receive a Token in the Output window.

  4. With the following indicators, you will have clear visibility into the current state of the SVM connection at a glance.

    • Green Icon— Displayed when the SVM connection is active.

    • Red Icon— Displayed when the SVM connection is inactive or not yet configured.

If SSO is configured using the old UI, to use Patch Publisher with SSO:

  • Change the server type to On-Prem

  • Set the URL to csi7.secunia.com

  • Ensure Use SSL is checked

Configure SVM Patch Publisher Proxy Settings

To configure a proxy server:

  1. On Settings menu, click SVM Connection in the left pane.

    The SVM Connection page appears.

  2. Enter the Proxy Settings (Proxy host, Proxy port, Proxy user name, and Proxy password) in the respective fields.

  3. Click Test &Save Connection to see if the settings that you entered can be used to successfully connect to this SVM server.

  4. Click Restart Service ribbon for the change to take effect.
